On Halloween, while children in Somerset were trick-or-treating, the Somerset Briar Jumper Football team traveled to Hazard for their final regular-season game of the season. There were plenty of tricks being handed out like candy, with both teams getting 25 penalties for a total of 303 yards. The Jumpers, however, managed to come out of the holler with a 45-26 win over the Hazard Bulldogs.
After the Somerset defense snuffed the Hazard offense in the first drive of the game, the penalties started flying on the first Jumper drive. However, the Jumpers were still able to eventually score on a 35-yard rush from Corban Cimala, making it 7-0 after a Julian Carroll extra point with about seven minutes to go in the first quarter.
