LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - A makeshift vigil has been set up in the same place where two 9-year-olds tragically passed in a deadly ATV accident.
“It’s unfortunate, you know. No one would predict something like this happening at such a young age,” said Josh Bailey, owner of Ram’s Dairy Bar in in Raceland, Kentucky.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened Sunday afternoon at a private residence just off of Township Road 130 A in Chesapeake, Ohio.
The officer’s initial investigation showed that the kids were riding on an ATV when they lost control and hit a bench, then a parked car.
Neighbors we spoke with said they heard a loud boom and then multiple kids screaming to call 911.
The kids were taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital before succumbing to their injuries
