A jump in contested races in Genesee County and more interest in early voting in Orleans County may have led to higher turnout for early voting this year.

The Genesee County Board of Elections Monday reported 751 early voters in total. From Oct. 25 through Sunday, the breakdown was: Oct. 25, 84 voters; Oct. 26, 64, Oct. 27, 100; Oct. 28, 81; Wednesday, 72; Thursday, 76; Friday, 83; Saturday, 91 and Sunday, 100.
