During the first half of Seattle's 38-14 win over the Washington Commanders, quarterback Sam Darnold had a perfect half, throwing 16-of-16 for 282 yards and four touchdowns before halftime, recording a 158.3 passer rating for the first two quarters. The first touchdown of the game was a four-yard reception by rookie Tory Horton.

Seattle started that Horton touchdown drive at their own 10-yard line. On the 12-play drive, the Seahawks ran the ball five times, all by Kenneth Walker III for 26 yards. Although Seattle was set back 24 yards on the scoring drive, by a chop block and two false start penalties, the Seahawks found a way to convert both of their third downs, a third-and-three and third-and-five following one of the false start penalties.
