MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) -- Five people were hurt after a two-vehicle crash in Mahomet on Monday.

The Mahomet Police Department said it happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Heather and Oak Streets.

After investigating, officials learned that one vehicle was heading northbound on Heather St., failed to yield at a stop sign and hit the right side of a second vehicle. Officials said the vehicle that was hit had four people inside.

All five people reported minor injuries and were brought to the hospital. None of their injuries were reported to be life-threatening, police said.

The driver who failed to yield at the stop sign was issued a citation. No roads were closed during the crash, and first responders were able to clear the scene shortly after noon.
