An alleged Islamic State fanatic accused of plotting the mass murder of Jews in Manchester was said to have wept at the idea that the guns he required might not be smuggled into the country, a jury was told.
But when he realised automatic rifles and ammunition were about to be smuggled, Tunisia-born former restaurateur Walid Saadaoui was said to have told an undercover operative posing as a jihadi that they were 'going to kill of a lot of dirty Jews'.
After the weapons were smuggled through Dover, the defendant was captured running away before officers caught him and arrested him on suspicion of plotting a devastating gun attack to kill 'as many Jews as possible' in Manchester.
