Construction of a “crucial” road safety project — located about 200m from the site of the fatal crash that killed Elizabeth Pearce in February — is back on track after months of delays.
Contractor WCP Civil has been recommended as the preferred tenderer to build a roundabout along The Avenue in Dalkeith.
The City of Nedlands received about $1.5 million in Black Spot funding for road safety measures in the area, including a roundabout at the intersection of Bruce Street, Birdwood Parade and The Avenue.
It was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of last financial year but the city was given an extension until the end of this year due to “high staff turnover and anticipated delays”.
