NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Nashville is dealing with a more than $15 billion “infrastructure crisis” as the city struggles to keep up with rapid growth, but Metro leaders said the current budget covers only 1% of what’s needed.
Metro Council Member Tasha Ellis is proposing a solution that would shift the financial burden from property taxpayers to developers through impact fees and real estate transfer taxes.
“We as Nashville property owners don’t want to pay more taxes,” Ellis said. “We want developers to pay their fair share of taxes.”
