A thick layer of haze continued to hang over Delhi as the air quality remained in the 'very poor' category for the third consecutive day, with a reading of 309, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said on Tuesday.
Data from the CPCB-developed Sameer app showed Alipur (421), Jahangirpuri (404) and Wazirpur (404) being the most polluted areas in the national capital as the Air Quality Index there fell in the 'severe' category.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe', according to CPCB standards.
The majority of the 39 air monitoring stations in the city saw air quality range between 'poor' and 'very poor' levels.
On Monday, the AQI was 319, down from 377 recorded on Sunday.
