Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor “removed” references to abuse victims in statements Buckingham Palace issued after his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview in 2019.

A friend of the King and Queen told British newspaper The Times Andrew signed off on the removal of all references to victims in communication drafted by courtiers after he attempted to address his relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the interview.

“There has long been a sense from the family that the voices of the victims needed to be heard in these pronouncements, because they feature so heavily in this saga and because there is no credible way the Queen and the Duchess of Edinburgh can continue to do the work they do in the areas of sexual abuse if they can’t point to that," the friend said on Sunday.
