WEST FARGO — After nearly a year, West Fargo will soon have a short-term rental ordinance that requires the properties to be licensed, but they will not have to be an owner's primary residence.
West Fargo Commissioners unanimously approved the second reading of the ordinance on Monday, Nov. 3, without discussion. The first reading was passed at the commission's Oct. 20 meeting with a vote of 4-1. Commissioner Amy Zundel voted against the measure at that time, while Mayor Bernie Dardis and Commissioners Brad Olson, Rory Jorgensen, and Roben Anderson approved the ordinance.
The primary residence requirement was one of the most controversial components of the ordinance that requires short-term rentals to be licensed by the city and the property to adhere to occupancy requirements. Zundel
