RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Richmond Circuit Judge Tracy Thorne-Begland denied a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction that would have halted plans to redistrict congressional maps in Virginia.
It comes after the motion was filed on Friday, Oct. 31, by the circuit court clerk’s of Henrico County, Lunenburg County, and Spotsylvania County.
The motion was denied on Monday, Nov. 3.
Last week, the Virginia Senate advanced the redistricting amendment . It now heads to the 2026 General Assembly session.
If approved there, voters would then have the final say on the amendment in a statewide referendum.
