HARTSHORNE, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — Three people were killed in a pair of accidents at a racing event in southeast Oklahoma over the weekend, according to authorities.

The McAlester/Pittsburg County Emergency Management said in social media posts that two emergency responders, identified as Jim McCoy, 60, and Clint Lawrence, 58, were killed on Nov. 1 in a vehicle accident at the H-Town Throwdown Street Races in Hartshorne in Pittsburg County.

Justin Faulkner, 42, died on Oct. 31 while volunteering to set up for the event.

McCoy was the chief of the Alderson Fire Department for eight years. One of the posts said McCoy dedicated his life to protecting and serving others throughout Pittsburg County.

Lawrence was an officer with the Haileyville Police Department and just completed his training
