BRANFORD, Conn. — A New Haven man was arrested Sunday after police said he rammed a car into multiple Branford police vehicles, which sent two officers to the hospital.
Branford police said they were patrolling the Walmart parking lot around 10:15 a.m. Sunday when they spotted a blue Acura with a stolen plate. The car itself had also been stolen a few weeks ago.
The driver inside the car, who police identified as Carlos Collazos, 30, of New Haven, refused to exit the vehicle and instead rammed police vehicles and a customer's unoccupied vehicle in an unsuccessful attempt to escape.
Two officers, and Collazos, were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries from the collisions.
