Deeply moving commitment on display at downtown rally

At 80 years of age, I spent a recent Saturday afternoon at the No Kings demonstration. The size of the crowd showed I am not alone in my views — far from it.

Creativity was a strong presence. Oct. 18 saw people dressed in every imaginable kind of garb, with some reflecting their distaste for royalty and many more previewing their Halloween selections. Even greater creative energy went into the signs and articles conceived to support the dominating views.

Behavior that I observed simply couldn’t be criticized. The spirit of agreement and the importance of the issues guaranteed that enthusiastic greetings, occasional chants, cheers and fist bumps would dominate. Many driving by displayed signs and gestures of support.
