BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A Berkeley County project more than four years in the making is expected to come to life next year.

County leaders gathered on Monday to announce that the Mega Boat Landing, located at the site previously occupied by Atkins Boat Landing and Lions Beach, will reopen in May 2026.

The new boat landing and waterfront park spans 15 acres on Lake Moultrie and is set to feature an array of amenities upon renovation.

Those amenities include: • Six boat ramps with docks for launching/recovering boats • Dredged area to a depth of 7.5 ft. • Dock protected by new 565 ft. long break wall • Space for approximately 36 boats to be docked at the marina • 4,200 sq. ft. open-air event pavilion • Walking trail – 0.6 miles around the landing • Two beaches – 58,00
