WHITE HALL, W.Va. (WBOY) — After the Town of White Hall sent a letter last month evicting the Valley Volunteer Fire Department from its White Hall substation, the two agreed to hold a meeting Monday night to try and see eye to eye.
The initial letter was sent due to the fire department moving much of its equipment out of the station, and Monday's meeting started with White Hall Mayor Jason Defrance highlighting concerns related to finances, the removal of equipment from the substation and communication between the two entities.
Deputy Chief Zach Eakle responded to these concerns by refuting some of the claims made by the mayor. He explained that members of the department were tossing out old equipment and cleaning out the station. He also expressed frustration with the situation.
