WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Tuesday is Election Day in Sedgwick County.
Three Wichita city council races, along with four school board seats, are up for reelection this year.
Some Wichitans might find themselves without a ballot. Laura Rainwater, Sedgwick County’s Election Commissioner, explained why someone might have no ballot.
“They have no contest to vote on. They’re primarily living in Wichita Council Districts 2 and 4, because those races aren’t on the ballot,” Rainwater said. “And then it crosses over with USD 259, which also has no election on the ballot. So be aware, if you go to the polls and you have no ballot, there’s a reason.”
Rainwater says this applies to around 20,000 Wichitans.
