PHOENIX -- As federal courts wrestle over funding food stamps, an Arizona lawmaker is crafting legislation for the new session that begins in January to further restrict what can be bought with them.
Rep. Leo Biasiucci acknowledges that there already are limits on the use of benefits in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Aside from the obvious -- tobacco and alcohol -- also off limits are vitamins, household needs like paper products, and hygiene items like soap. ×
