FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne City Council will vote on building a large sign to welcome drivers to Fort Wayne Tuesday evening.
The new signage would be installed along northbound I-69 at the Jefferson Boulevard exit.
The project was originally quoted at $750,000, but according to an ordinance approving a construction contract for the sign, the structure would cost more than $815,000.
This ordinance involves only the Jefferson Boulevard sign and does not include the proposed signs on Dupont Road and U.S. 30.
Tonight’s vote comes just a week after the council approved millions of dollars in budget cuts.
