Felony suspect barricades inside apartment during standoff in Arnold

ARNOLD, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Police are currently on the scene of a standoff as a felony suspect has barricaded themselves inside an apartment in Arnold.

According to the Arnold Police Department, officers saw a man with active felony warrants exit a stolen vehicle Monday night. He then went inside an apartment in the 100 block of Crosswind Drive.

Police say he is also a suspect in numerous vehicle break-ins that were reported in the area.

At 1:30 a.m., SWAT officers contacted the suspect, who responded by barricading himself inside the apartment.

Law enforcement is still on scene, and the situation is ongoing.

Residents in the area are strongly encouraged to avoid Crosswind Drive and the surrounding area until further notice.
