Penn State moved on from James Franklin earlier this season, in part because of his struggles in big games.
It’s well-documented that Franklin was 4-21 against top-10 teams during his time at Penn State, and he was 1-18 against top-10 teams in conference games.
While those numbers were understandably frustrating for Penn State fans and administrators, ESPN College GameDay star Rece Davis warned recently that things could get worse for the Nittany Lions, depending on their hire.
“If you don’t think it could get worse than losing all these highly-ranked games, how about a steady diet of regularly losing to UCLA and Northwestern when they’ve been struggling. That could happen, too,” Rece Davis said on the College GameDay podcast.
