The first high school football playoffs with eight classes after the North Carolina High School Athletic Association realignment this offseason are here. The NCHSAA released brackets on Nov. 2.
Robbinsville, Murphy , Mountain Heritage and Brevard all earned the top seed in their respective class. Two of those teams have a difficult road to a state championship game appearance. Some other WNC teams received favorable draws despite being lower-seeded teams.
