SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA)— The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting involving a deputy on Tuesday morning.

The shooting occurred at the 5000 block of Central Sarasota Parkway.

"For your safety, please avoid the area," the sheriff's office said in a post on Facebook.
