Police: Man reports he was robbed of cash inside hotel room

WILKES-BARRE — City police say they are investigating a report of a robbery involving a firearm at a hotel on Kidder Street on Saturday.

A 61-year-old man from Pittston told police he was inside a hotel room and visited by a friend, who was accompanied by another man he did not know at about 11:45 p.m.

Once the unknown man entered the room, he brandished a firearm and demanded cash, the victim told police.

After a brief struggle, the victim told police he gave the unknown man $3,000.
