Two people have been arrested, Niagara police say, in connection with human trafficking in Niagara Falls, Ont.

A 30-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were charged with trafficking in persons, advertising another person's sexual services, extortion, forcible confinement and breach of probation.

The charges were a result of a months-long investigation that started in July.

The Niagara Falls woman was arrested on Sept. 4. The man was arrested on Nov. 3.

Police said due to the "nature of the investigation," they believe there could be more witnesses and are asking anyone with information to contact Niagara police.
