ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI — A teenage girl died overnight from injuries she suffered in a crash on U.S. 131 when another vehicle drove into oncoming traffic.

The 17-year-old is the fourth person to die from the crash that happened around 1 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, on U.S. 131 in Wayland Township, Allegan County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Berens Brandon confirmed on the morning of Nov. 4.

Two others were injured. Police have not released the identities of any of the people in the crash.

Portage Public Schools Spokeswoman Michelle Karpinski confirmed the teen who died was a Community High School student.

A 38-year-old Grand Rapids woman was driving the at-fault vehicle that crashed on the highway around 1 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, Allegan County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Brandon Berens said.
