BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Choctaw Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Baton Rouge will join Marines around the world in celebrating the Corps' 250th birthday on Monday, Nov. 10.

Several events have been organized to celebrate the milestone along with Veterans Day. On Thursday, Nov. 6, the group will participate in a ceremony at the Louisiana Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana.

On Friday, Nov. 7, they will attend a Veterans Day breakfast sponsored by Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sid Edwards. On Saturday, Nov. 8, the League will participate in the Walker Veterans Day Parade and lastly on Sunday, Nov. 9, they will attend a Veterans Day Mass.
