FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — A high school football player has been arrested following an alleged attack on a Fernandina Beach High School player on Halloween.
Daniel Byers, 18, was arrested by the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office Tuesday and released on bond.
The Fernandina Beach Police Department on Tuesday announced that an arrest warrant had been issued for the Bell High School football player.
Police say Daniel Byers is accused of "aggressively pushing" a Fernandina Beach High School football player during a game, removing the 15-year-old's helmet, then striking him in the head with it.
