SCHENECTADY—The first round of the Battle of the Brews closed at midnight this past Sunday. The voting was strong from across a wide demographic. The next round pits bitter rivals against each other for bragging rights.

Frog Alley beat Helderberg Meadworks; Wolf Hollow bested Great Sacandaga Brewing; Speckled Pig over Druthers in a nail-biter; Active Ingredient slid past Dancing Grain Brewing; Brown's Brewing edged out Whitman Brewing; Other One Brewing beat Old Klaverack; Stump City Brewing surprised Fidens Brewing Co.; and Back Barn Brewing came in over The Warbler Brewery.
