MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Following a recent triple homicide in Monroe, community members are searching for solutions to break the cycle of violence.

One national movement known for addressing crime head-on is now planning to come to the city and organizers say they want the community involved.

“The Funeral Is Cancelled,” a traveling anti-violence program, is set to bring its emotional and graphic re-enactments of violent crime to Monroe. The performance is designed to shock audiences, spark conversation and encourage young people to think twice before turning to violence.

Organizers say the event focuses on gun violence, drug abuse, and other issues impacting communities across the country.
