The New Jersey Democratic State Committee is seeking an emergency application against the Bergen County Board of Elections and its commissioner and superintendent of elections over mail-in ballots.

The action follows a Nov. 2 New Jersey Globe article stating that 300 vote-by-mail ballots had an issue. The request said "without providing any notice nor opportunity to cure," the Board of Elections decided not to count the ballots because of the absence of an inner envelope, despite the board actually receiving them. The court documents said the voters' identities are only known to the Board.
