The Jacksonville Jaguars have acquired veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round draft picks, according to multiple reports.
The deal comes just hours ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline on Nov. 4 and after Meyers expressed his desire to be traded away from the team.
Meyers, 28, had been with the Raiders since signing a free-agent contract with the team in 2023. He posted his first-ever 1,000-yard receiving season in 2024 and led the Raiders in targets (47) this season before being traded to the Jaguars.
Jacksonville is hoping Meyers – who has 33 catches for 352 yards across seven games in 2025 – will provide the team's banged-up receiving corps a boost as they aim for a playoff run in the AFC.
But how exactly will Meyers fit with the Jaguars? Here's what to know about the team's wide receiver depth chart.
Jaguars WR depth chart
The Jaguars will have five healthy wide receivers on their 53-man roster after trading for Meyers. Below is a look at the projected pecking order within that unit.
- Brian Thomas Jr.
- Jakobi Meyers
- Parker Washington
- Dyami Brown
- Tim Patrick
The Jaguars also have No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter on injured reserve (IR) and a trio of wide-outs on the practice squad: Austin Trammell, Tim Jones and Chandler Brayboy.
In addition to Hunter's injury, the Jaguars were without Patrick (groin) in Week 9 against the Raiders while Thomas Jr. is dealing with "a low-grade high-ankle sprain," per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Those injuries should allow Meyers to quickly slot into a significant role in Jacksonville's receiving corps. If Thomas can play in Week 10, Meyers figures to be the team's No. 2 receiver. He would join the LSU product and Washington – who has developed nice chemistry with Trevor Lawrence and has been targeted 19 times across his last two games – to create a versatile starting unit.
Meyers can play both on the outside and in the slot, so Liam Coen figures to move around the excellent route-runner while trying to create mismatches for the trio of wide-outs.
The major question many will have is about how much Meyers' role will change when Hunter returns from his knee injury. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft was placed on IR ahead of Week 9 after suffering a non-contact injury in practice. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Hunter isn't expected to be out long term, but he will remain sidelined until at least Week 13.
Hunter has primarily played in the slot as a rookie and figures to occupy that role upon his return as Jacksonville's de facto No. 2 receiver. That would leave Meyers and Washington battling for snaps on the outside, especially if Hunter's offensive snap share – which was on the rise before his injury – continues to increase.
Still, Meyers figures to get plenty of chances to prove himself for the Jaguars over the next few weeks.
