HIGH FALLS, N.Y. — A goat that was rescued by the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary after it was attacked by a bear is recovering well thanks to donations, the shelter’s director said Tuesday.
Evie, a 7-year-old goat, was living in a private home in Pennsylvania when she was attacked, the sanctuary said. After an urgent appeal last week for donations to pay for Evie’s medical care and for a safe new home, the sanctuary offered “a heartfelt thank you” to all of its donors.
“Her name is Evie, and since we welcomed her here at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary we have been working hard to provide the medical and emotional care she needs. … She is not out of the woods yet, but we are treating her wounds and will be doing more testing over the next few days.
