TATUM, Texas — Parts of the city of Tatum are without water after a large water main ruptured at one of the city's intersections Tuesday.

According to a message from the Tatum Waterworks, a utility company ruptured the large water main near the intersection of W. Sterling Price and Hood Street. The city's crews expect the disruption in the water supply to last about four to six hours.

City officials says it's unknown how much of the city of Tatum will be without water. Crews are working to repair the line.

Because of the water issues, both Tatum Middle and High Schools have decided to dismiss students early at 1 p.m. Buses will take these students home and return for the regular bus routes for the lower campuses.
