RIVERVIEW, Fla. (WFLA) — A driver was arrested early Sunday after Hillsborough County deputies said he was caught doing burnouts in a Riverview street takeover.
The sheriff's office said deputies responded to reports of a street takeover involving more than two dozen vehicles near South Gornto Lake Road and Bloomingdale Avenue.
The sheriff's office aviation unit spotted a white Dodge Challenger "lightning up the lot with dangerous burnouts."
The helicopter pilots worked with deputies on the ground to pull the driver over.
Deputies said the 20-year-old driver "didn't race his way out of this one." He was charged with unlawful racing on a highway, reckless driving, and fleeing to elude.
