RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Next week marks the start of the final season of loose leaf collection for the City of Raleigh.
Beginning in the fall of 2026, seasonal loose leaf collection will transition into an enhanced weekly yard waste service.
Solid waste crews will collect leaves once every week throughout the year instead of the current pickups between November and March.
The city says this will allow homeowners to place their yard waste bins and up to 15 biodegradable bags out at the curb weekly.
The Raleigh City Council approved the changes in June after mounting complaints from residents about leaves covering sidewalks, roads and blocking storm drains.
