Despite having a smaller roster than most schools, the Fontana High School basketball team is steamrolling its competition this season.
The 11-man roster has achieved a 16-4 record while going undefeated in San Andreas League play.
Head coach Mel Wilkins said he is impressed by his team’s ability to understand his system of play and buy in to what he is trying to build at Fontana High.
“I think I’m most impressed with how they bought in and seem to understand (how the game is played),” Wilkins said. “That’s a bonus because sometimes it doesn’t resonate because I’m an old-school coach, so sometimes it doesn’t click.”
