“Shame on you” was shouted out in Chatham-Kent council chambers Monday as a group of residents angrily filed out after realizing the municipality would not change course on potentially hosting wind farm projects.
A motion by Chatham Coun. Amy Finn for council to declare the municipality an unwilling host for industrial wind turbines never made it to the floor for discussion.

Because a similar motion by North-Kent Coun. Rhonda Jubenville failed in July 2024, in order for Finn’s motion to be discussed, it required a vote to reconsider, which needed two-thirds support of council. The vote to reconsider failed 11-6, with one councillor absent, falling one vote short of the 12 votes needed.
