Damages from the streak of south Edmonton infill housing construction arson is in estimated to be eight million dollars, city leaders said Tuesday, as Mayor Andrew Knack extended his sympathy to those affected by the “unconscionable violence.”

“I want to thank the Edmonton Police Service and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services for their exceptional work in both dutifully responding to these fires and in the investigation of their cause. This is a tragedy caused by unconscionable violence,” said the mayor in a news release expressing sympathy and compassion for those whose homes have been affected.
