SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Springfield Thunderbirds have signed Bruins legend Milan Lucic to a professional tryout contract.
The 37-year-old spent nine of his 17 NHL seasons in the black and gold and won the Stanley Cup with Boston in 2011.
Lucic originally signed a professional tryout contract with the St. Louis Blues before the start of training camp this year and played in four preseason games before suffering a lower-body injury.
The Thunderbirds next home game will be Friday at 7 p.m. when they face the Bridgeport Islanders at the MassMutual Center.
