WASHINGTON — Tom Brady has revealed that his family’s new dog, Junie, is actually a clone of his late pit bull mix, Lua, according to People .
Lua, whom Brady shared with his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen and their children, died in December 2023.
Now, the retired NFL quarterback is disclosing that he worked with Colossal Biosciences, a Dallas-based biotech company in which he has invested, to clone Lua using a blood sample collected before her death.
Bündchen initially announced Lua’s death on Instagram in December 2023, writing, “Our little Lulu, our guardian angel is gone to heaven.” Brady also paid tribute, writing, “We love you Lua, RIP.”
Now, with Junie, Brady says his family has been given “a second chance” with the dog that meant so much to them.
