KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Platte County prosecutor announced new charges in connection to a 2022 homicide.

Cordero T. Cervantes, a 35-year-old man, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the June 2022 shooting death of a man in rural Platte County.

According to the Platte County prosecutor, Cervantes and McKayla Archambeau are both charged with second-degree murder in connection to the killing of Taylor Hawkins.

Archambeau, a 25-year-old from Parkville, was charged with second-degree murder in October of 2022 and was found guilty last August. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 14.

Cervantes was originally arrested with Archambeau in 2022.
