Sixers second-year swingman Jared McCain seems set to make his season debut.
Philadelphia says McCain is available for the team’s road game against the Chicago Bulls ( 8 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass ) tonight. McCain has been sidelined since late September after suffering a UCL tear in his right thumb during a team workout.
That marked the latest setback for McCain, who as a rookie last season averaged 15.3 points in 23 games before injuring his left knee in a December game against Indiana. He said Sept. 2 that he was “on pace” to return for the opening tipoff.
McCain appeared in 23 games last season and led all rookies with an average of 15.3 points. He also averaged 2.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 25.7 minutes while finishing fourth among rookies with a 3-point percentage of 38.3%
