Officially provided an update on road repairs in Lake County that were affected by torrential rain.
Roads in Mount Dora were washed out after the area received 17.86 inches of rain.
Mount Dora's mayor described the storm event as rare and reported extensive damage, but noted that no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Wolf Branch Road
Wolf Branch Road is undergoing "tremendous improvement," according to officials.
The goal is to prevent future washouts. Therefore, the road will be raised about 12 to 18 inches to handle any runoffs that may come over the road.
Repairs will cost approximately $600,000, according to Lake County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Leslie Campione.
Britt Road
Repairs on Britt Road are estimated to cost around $2 to $3 million.
