BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A pregnant woman was released from the hospital after she was hit by a four-wheeler at the Harvest Festival in New Roads on Sunday, Nov. 2, according to Sheriff Rene' Thibodeaux of the Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Office.

He said the woman sustained minor injuries after she was hit between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. by a four-wheeler that a New Roads police officer drove.

Thibodeaux said the "four-wheeler was driven down the middle of Main Street where the vendors were set up."

He said they are unsure at this time whether the officer will face charges.

The investigation remains ongoing.
