Drink driving police officer had 'no excuse' View Image

A serving police officer has pleaded guilty to drink driving while off duty. PC Ted Andrews, 19, from Swindon, blew over the limit following an incident in Swindon on September 20.

He pleaded guilty to the offence at Oxford Magistrates Court on Tuesday (November 4) and was disqualified from driving for 16 months. He was also fined £250.

At around 11.15pm on Saturday, September 20, officers on patrol in Swindon came across a broken-down vehicle, a white Skoda, on the Magic Roundabout. The Skoda, driven by PC Andrews, is thought to have collided with roadside furniture on the roundabout.

The attending officers suspected PC Andrews of having been drinking and asked him to provide a sample of breath for analysis. PC Andrews provided
