(NewsNation) — Food Network star and executive chef Tobias Dorzon is reflecting on how he nearly lost his life after being shot 11 times during a robbery and how he leaned on celebrity chef Guy Fieri for support.

“Even after the shooting, he was constantly on the phone with me checking in, making sure the medical staff were taking care of me, offering to order food for everyone, and just giving me words of encouragement,” Dorzon told People magazine. “He’s been here for me the whole time, every step of the way.”

In his conversation with People, Dorzon spoke candidly about what happened in November 2024, when he was on his way home when several people emerged from a car and shot at him and his girlfriend.
