WAPPINGERS FALLS – Mayor Kevin Huber issued a “State of Emergency” on Monday for Reservoir Place in the village. The road has been deemed unsafe due to excavation and construction, and vehicular traffic is prohibited.
Reservoir Place connects East Main Street in the north to Clapp Avenue in the south.
The order says in part “Such conditions threaten the public safety of the citizens and residents of the Village of Wappingers Falls.”
Mayor Huber’s declaration also “Directs all departments and agencies of the Village of Wappingers Falls to take whatever steps necessary to protect life and property, public infrastructure, and provide such emergency assistance deemed necessary.”
This State of Emergency will remain in effect for 30 days or until rescinded by Mayor Huber.
