VAN BUREN, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The trial for a former Van Buren police officer accused of internet stalking a child has been scheduled for next year, according to court documents.

Jason Scites, 45, was arrested on July 21 on one count of internet stalking of a child. He has pleaded not guilty.

During his pretrial hearing on Nov. 4, Scites' trial was set for March 3, 2026, at 9 a.m., Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Holmes confirmed to KNWA/FOX24.

Officials said that starting on July 15, Scites was communicating with a teenager on TikTok. Their messages were reviewed and Scites reportedly offered to massage the teen.

Scites then said he wanted to inappropriately touch the teen, according to the messages.
